I will support your return to everyday activities that are important to you. These might include work roles, leisure and social pursuits, household tasks and personal care routines.
Using a health coaching approach and 15 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist for individuals with long term conditions, I aim to give you confidence to improve your wellbeing and quality of life. Together, we can identify the barriers which are getting in your way, and you will develop your physical and emotional resilience.
You will receive a personalised holistic assessment to identify issues which are important to you. Your rehabilitation plan will reflect your individual needs and so the number of sessions required will vary depending on what you would like to achieve. My work with you could include:
Personalised goal setting to help you make steady progress
Practical advice on modifying everyday activities to make them possible
Support to stay in employment or to return to work – including vocational rehabilitation, work place assessment and use of the AHP Health and Work Report for your employer/manager
Recommendations for aids and minor adaptations
Fatigue and pain management strategies – education in pain science, skills in energy conservation, relaxation techniques, cognitive strategies
Advice for a better night’s sleep
Stress management techniques
Hand therapy and splinting advice for weak or painful hands/wrists
Signposting to other relevant agencies/groups
I can provide sessions in your home, in a Keyworth based clinic or virtually using Zoom.
